About Us

Tekton Construction was begun in the summer of 2001, in Missoula, Montana.  Soon after, the company was relocated to the Portland area, and now serves the entire Metro area.  Tekton Construction was first licensed in the State of Oregon in January of 2003.  The owner, Tim Hickman, has more than 15 years experience in the construction industry, and has worked alongside some of the best in the business.  Tekton was founded on three principles: Quality, Integrity and Excellence in Craftsmanship; these equate to complete customer service.  Everyone seems to throw around these catchphrases, but few know what they mean, and even less endeavor to make their work and their customer interaction reflect these values.  At Tekton, we don’t use cheap or inferior materials.  We also don’t make efforts to cater to those customers who simply want the job done as cheaply as possible.  We strive to provide unsurpassed craftsmanship, attention to detail, and customer service in each and every job we undertake.  Take a look at our ‘Testimonials’ page to hear from some of our past customers, how Tekton has made complete customer service, priority number one. 

The name ‘tektwn’ is Greek for ‘Carpenter’ or ‘worker of wood’, and is used twice in the New Testament, once in reference to Jesus (Mark 6:3), and once in reference to Jesus’ father, Joseph (Matthew 13:55).  The word appears like this, in the original language: tektwn.  Tekton Construction strives to ‘do all for the glory of God’ (1 Corinthians 10:31) and to do ‘all things that God may be praised through Jesus Christ’ (1 Peter 4:11).
